Attractions on Trebević and in Sarajevo
Trebević is known as an ecologically protected area and was designated as a protected landscape in 2014.
Due to its altitude (approximately 1,600 m) and dense forest vegetation, the mountain has exceptionally clean and fresh air.
Much of the area is covered with pine and beech forests that naturally filter the air and create a high level of oxygen.
Trebević has no industry or polluters, so many Sarajevans come here to "escape the smog" and breathe true mountain air.
Thanks to its status as a protected area, unauthorized construction and forest cutting are prohibited, preserving ecological balance and pristine nature, making Trebević one of Sarajevo's most important "lungs of the city".
